The original Starcraft was The strategic real-time game (with a capital „The“). I loved it and still do. No other game I know is that well balanced and so addictive even after 12 years. When Blizzard stated that they would develop a sequel I was very sceptical. Especially the sequel Warcraft 3 was a step into the wrong direction (imho). The expectations for Starcraft 2 could not have been any higher.
And now I have been playing Starcraft 2 for numerous hours (starting on Tuesday 22:00 o’clock) and I am addicted to this game. Blizzard did it. They took the best elements of the original Starcraft and left them practically unchanged. They added their know-how from other newer games and created a game which is (at least in my mind) perfect in every possible way. Congratulations, Blizzard!
I could write pages and pages about this game, but – to be honest – i don’t want to. Actually, I want to go back to playing it.
